FAQS:

Where do I register my gun? All relevant firearm information and forms can be found at the RCMP website here. It is very important to preregister your gun (using the Non-Resident Firearms Declaration Form) about a week before your hunt or print out 3 copies of the form and pay at the border crossing.

How do I obtain a hunting license? Please fill out our online form or download the PDF and fax it to us, if you have any questions you can contact Brenda at 306-837-4728

What can I expect at camp? Once you arrive you will find a relaxing, home-like atmosphere that offers both private and semi-private rooms. We have a phone with a long distance package, satellite TV, washer, dryer and provide all bedding and towels.

Do I need travel insurance? We strongly recommend obtaining travel health insurance in the case of a medical emergency. It is not expensive to purchase and may save you a lot of money and grief should you have to visit a Doctor while in Canada.

Are meals included? What if I have a special dietary restrictions? All meals and beverages except alcohol are provided. You will start your day with a hot breakfast, enjoy a thermos filled with a warm beverage in the morning, and have a full course home cooked meal at the end of the day. Afterward, you will prepare a bagged lunch from the sliced meat and fresh baked goodies. If you require a special diet (diabetic/healthy heart/etc) please let Brenda know in advance.

Are gratuities included in the price? Tips are not included but are greatly appreciated. We all work very hard to make your hunt a trip of a lifetime. Although it is up to the hunter the average tip for your guide is 5-10% of the cost of your hunt. Most clients also give the cooks $100 for their week of hard work.

Can I bring a guest who doesn’t hunt but wants to experience the thrill? Non-hunters are welcome for a fee of $500/week.

Will my cell phone work? Cell phones work in the Meadow Lake hunting area so you can text your guide. We have found that the cell phones may work in the local baits, but it is often hit and miss. We have radios to communicate between guides and hunters should you need them. Also, we suggest checking with your cell provider before leaving the US and turn off your data. Email downloading may cost you dearly! We have a phone available at camp for everyone to use and gladly take messages if you are out.
